PEOPLE experiencing homelessness, hunger and isolation this Christmas were given a boost by Maximize Education CEO Christine Jamieson.

Christine gifted £200 of Greggs food and hot drink vouchers to people experiencing homelessness in Newcastle city centre.

She also distributed clothing from her clothing brand Edge Up, which makes gym and leisurewear.

Christine visited Newcastle city centre on Christmas Eve to share vouchers and clothing in a much-needed boost for those in urgent need.

Christine, pictured left, said: “Homelessness is a problem all year round, not just at Christmas, but we wanted to show those who are sleeping rough that people do care and want to help them

“We all take food, a hot drink and clothing for granted as they are basic items, but homeless people do not have money for even basic things.

“Christmas is an opportunity to show how much you care and we feel it is important to give back to people in need who, often through no fault of their own, have found themselves in a desperate situation.”

Christine added: “Everyone was happy with their gifts and were lovely to talk to.”

Maximize Education provides educational support to students from pre-school to undergraduate and adult learners.

Christine supports many community initiatives, such as Morpeth Book Festival and providing meals for elderly people, as well as sponsoring promising sportsmen and women.

She established her Dream Chaser programme which supports young people to pursue their aspirations to compete at the highest level or study overseas.
